Life Drawing
Life drawing is something I was alway a curious about, yet I have always been anxious to try it. However, I organised two 4 hour one on one classes with life drawing model and tutor Claire Broome who introduced me into this beautiful area which I am now so glad I attempted. So far in my art work I have always drawn my images from photographs, using light boxes etc to make the image as realistic and accurate as possible. And so because of getting comfortable with that technique there was always some level of fear when it came to the thought of drawing from the eye. However, I was astounded by my progress and how quickly I adapted to using only my pencil to measure the proportions of the body correctly. Soon my eye was good enough alone to do so. The second class had me move on to adding detail and tone to the drawings and I learned some interesting techniques as how to express the mood of a pose through adding tone with charcoal. Soon I found myself working very freely yet still managing to produce pieces I was delighted with.
